Brooks & Dunn To Restart “Last Rodeo” July 16


Brooks & Dunn will resume their final tour on July 16th.

The Last Rodeo Tour was postponed on the recommendation of doctors for Ronnie Dunn to go on immediate vocal rest. Of the restart and new dates Dunn emailed, “Getting better every day. Kix and I will be raring to start where we left off ….and go for 3 additional dates to say thanks to all the fans for 20 years of showing us the love!”

B&D have added 3 dates to The Last Rodeo Tour; new tour stops include Oklahoma City, OK on August 20th, Little Rock, AR on August 21st and Holmdel, NJ on August 28th.In addition, country music legend Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert, and Sara Evans have been announced to appear on selected tour dates.

The Last Rodeo Tour is now routed as follows:

Stars Gather At ACM Honors

It was a star-studded evening last night at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. Country artists such as Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Joe Nichols, and Jamey Johnson gathered to honor some of country music’s most legendary artists including Hank Williams Jr., Randy Travis, Dolly Parton, and Merle Haggard.

Lee Ann Womack hosted and performed at the event while Underwood, Nichols, Shelton, and Lambert (among others) came to to pay tribute to those being honored.

“I feel like I need to be older, or dead,” Travis joked about receiving the Cliffe Stone Pioneer award. “Great thanks to so many wonderful songwriters in this town. The hits don’t happen without them.”

Special honorees included:

  • Jerry Reed (posthumously), Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis & Hank Williams Jr – recipients of the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award
  • Merle Haggard & Harlan Howard (posthumously) – recipients of the Poet’s Award
  • Dolly Parton – recipient of the Jim Reeves International Award
  • David Young – recipient of the Mae Boren Axton Award
  • “Beer For My Horses” – recipient of the Tex Ritter Award (produced by Showdog Productions, in conjunction with CMT Films – executive producers: Leslie Belzberg, T.K. Kimbrell, and Jeff Yapp; producers: Toby Keith and Donald Zuckerman; director: Michael Salomon)

Carrie Underwood To Be Inducted To Oklahoma Music Hall Of Fame


Carrie Underwood

ACM Entertainer of the Year and four time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood will be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame next month.

Underwood joins artists such as Vince Gill, Toby Keith, and Merle Haggard in being recognized by the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

To celebrate the honor, Underwood, along with two other hall of fame inductees will perform at the Annual Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Concert Sept. 17.

Tickets will be available online at www.omhof.com and at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and Museum office by calling 918-697-0800.

Lee Ann Womack is set to host this year’s installment of the ACM Honors.  The event will be held in Nashville on September 22 and will honor this year’s Special Award recipients as well as the categories that weren’t televised during the ACM Awards.  The honorees include Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis, Hank Williams Jr., and others.

Carrie Underwood Earns Triple Crown


With last night’s Entertainer of the Year award, Carrie Underwood becomes one of an elite group of country music artists in history to qualify for the ACM “Triple Crown.”  The triple crown includes wins for Top New  Female/Male Vocalist, Top Female/Male Vocalist, and Entertainer of the Year.  Other triple crown winners include Barbara Mandrell, Mickey Gilley, Merle Haggard, Dixie Chicks, Brooks & Dunn and Kenny Chesney.
